Security awareness training (SAT)…oh boy, here we go again! We know you’ve heard its importance from our techs, your Client Technology Managers (CTM), and have read the many emails and blogs sent to your inbox. While you might think that firewalls and antivirus software have got you covered, the truth is, one of the biggest risks to a company’s security is the people sitting behind the keyboard—yes, that means all of us!

We’ve noticed that some of you have been giving our training emails the cold shoulder, but it’s time to give them a second look—starting your training is more important than ever! SAT is like a friendly reminder for you to keep your cyber senses sharp. It’s a quick and easy way to educate yourself about the latest threats, from phishing emails that look suspiciously like they came from your boss to the dangers of using “password123” as your go to password (please don’t!).

“Cybersecurity isn’t just about protecting computers; it’s about safeguarding the people who use them,” shared Cody Daniels, one of TREYSTA’s CTMs. “Every click, every email, and every login is a potential gateway for threats, which is why a strong defense includes not just technology, but also the awareness and actions of everyone on the team.”

However, there’s more to SAT than protecting you; it’s also a key factor in keeping your cyber liability insurance in check. Insurers are increasingly requiring businesses to have regular security training as part of their coverage. Why? They’ve recognized that human error is one of the leading causes of cybersecurity incidents. In fact, insurers have denied claims when companies failed to implement basic security measures, like multifactor authentication (MFA).

We get it—time is money, and you’ve got places to be. But your monthly security awareness training is like brushing your teeth: it only takes a few minutes and skipping it could lead to some serious cavities…in your cybersecurity! So, squeeze it in between coffee refills and become a cybersecurity superhero without breaking a sweat. By investing just a few minutes each month, you can learn how to spot and avoid these threats. And let’s face it, no one wants to be the person who has to explain to the boss why the insurance claim got denied!

Reminder!

To ensure a smooth onboarding process for your new team members, we kindly ask that you submit any new user requests at least 2-3 days before their start date. This allows us to set up their accounts, permissions, and devices properly, ensuring they’re ready to hit the ground running on day one. Your cooperation helps us provide the best possible service, and we appreciate your attention to this important detail.

TREYSTA had a blast as a sponsor of the Gettysburg Brewfest, where great brews and company were enjoyed. We also had the pleasure of co-hosting the Harrisburg Chamber August B.A.S.H event with Vista Autism Services. It was a fantastic evening of networking and building stronger ties within our local business community. We’re always excited to support and engage with our neighbors, and these events were the perfect opportunities to do just that!
